Too much Tennessee news for one headline

Looking for so much information on so many Tennessee sports that a simple headline can’t describe it?

There is a GoVols247 podcast for this.

Wes Rucker from GoVols247 (from Fort Rucker Studio), Ryan Callahan (from his home daycare) and Grant Ramey (from GoVols247’s Blount County satellite office in Maryville) gathered via the Internets Magic of Al Gore to chat a ton of recent developments in Tennessee football, basketball and baseball, both on the field and on the scouting track.

And then, yeah, this whole NLI thing.

Ryan joins the first segment, which focuses primarily on Tennessee football news from last week – and there have been plenty of them, with two more losses (defensive linemen Greg Emerson and Darel Middleton) to the NCAA transfer portal, but also a significant portal addition (Alabama defensive back Brandon Turnage) and some big commitments (liners Jordan phillips and Masai Reddick) of the recruitment track. Trying to keep up with list changes in the portal age can be overwhelming, but we’re here to help. A discussion of the future of Tennessee football on the scouting track is also covered in the first segment, as is an update on how the Vols quarterback Tayven Jackson achieved during the Elite 11 final.

Grant joins the second segment, where the focus is on Tennessee basketball and baseball. Rick barnes and his basketball team added another elite prospect last week, when the four-star point guard from Knoxville Catholic High School BJ Edwards made his expected commitment to Flights. The addition of Edwards and what it means for other elite targets in the class is discussed, as well as new developments with Kennedy Chandler, John fulkerson, Santiago vescovi, Olivier Nkamhoua, Brandon Huntley-Hatfield, Jahmai Mashack, Quentin Dibounje and more.

Discussion of ongoing contract negotiations with Tennessee and popular baseball coach Tony Vitello are also included in the second segment, and there is also a discussion of the name, image and likeness revolution and what that means for the Vols.

So, yes, there are a lot of things on the menu.

The next GoVols247 podcast will be released on Thursday, unless big news comes before that point.
