TN Attorney General’s Office Reimburses Consumers After Walker Stalkers/Fanfest Events Canceled

Nashville- Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti announced a consumer restitution program to reimburse canceled “Fan Fest” events hosted by Walker Stalkers, LLC. Consumers wishing to request a refund (either for tickets purchased or fees paid to participate as a seller) should act quickly, as this program will only be accepting requests for approximately 120 days (January 30, 2023).

“The opportunity to make things right for the fans is the best possible outcome in a case like this,” General Skrmetti said. “I appreciate the hard work of our Consumer Protection Division throughout this legal process.”

Walker Stalkers CEO James Frazier started operating the business in 2013 and has hosted dozens of “Walker Stalker Con” and “Fan Fest” events across the US and London, UK. The events provided an opportunity for fans to meet famous actors and entertainers associated with the popular TV show “The Walking Dead”, as well as other well-known TV shows. As of 2018, however, several of the conventions have been canceled and refunds promised to ticket holders and sellers have never materialized.

James Frazier consented to an agreed final judgment after the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office sued Walker Stalkers in 2020.

Amber Shaw, Managing Partner of Harris Shelton Hanover Walsh, PLLC, will act as Restitution Administrator. She is now in charge of facilitating claims and reimbursements. “We enjoy working with victims to complete the claims process and issue refunds,” Shaw said. “The claims process can be daunting at times, and our role is to make it as easy as possible.”

The refund will be paid after the 120 day claims process. Once the claim period is over, the Refund Administrator will calculate the total amount of valid claims and begin distributing refunds. If the number of valid claims exceeds the funds Walker Stalkers has paid pursuant to the judgment, consumers will only be reimbursed pro-rated amounts. After the 120-day claim period expires, consumers will no longer be able to request a refund.
