Motorists traveling on Keltonburg Road (Highway 288) are advised to take note of the new traffic pattern at the intersection with Highway 56.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation announced that the contractor, Jones Brothers Contractors, has moved traffic on State Route 288 (Keltonburg Road) to the new State Route 56 (McMinnville Highway) intersection which is now directly across from Blue Springs Road. Motorists should exercise caution at the new intersection and take into account the new traffic pattern. The old crossroads has been closed there.

Meanwhile, TDOT announced a traffic change between LM 24.4 in Warren County and LM 1.0 in DeKalb County. There is a detour in place for Sink Creek Road. Motorists should follow signs posted in the area. The contractor will continue with the installation of concrete box culverts and drainage structures. Grading works, bridge works and paving operations on the new alignment of the roadway are in progress. The contractor uses signaling operations throughout the project in several areas for grading operations.

Traffic was also moved to the detour between SR-288 and Old Blue Springs Road so the contractor could complete grading work in the area. There are several traffic changes within the Smithville city limits from South College Street to the end of the project to allow the contractor to complete the work. The speed limit has been reduced to 45 mph in the construction zone.

Regarding the Highway 70 project between Liberty and Alexandria, TDOT announced that contractor Twin K Construction is continuing its grading activities. Temporary lane closures and/or periodic traffic disruptions will be required for construction activities. Motorists should exercise caution when traveling through the work area and be aware of construction personnel.
